He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Smith and Leona Butler Smith; his sister Betty Smith Morton; and his former wife Joyce G. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hunt Smith; his children, Caroline Smith, Christine Lewter, Reid Fudge, John Fudge and Lucia Hazen; and his sister Mary Jane Caylor. He is also survived by grandchildren; one great-grandson.
