He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Masby Buchanan and Mary Horton Buchanan; his brother Phil Buchanan of Greenback, Tennessee; and his brother-in-law Jamey Propst (Milam) of Atlanta, Georgia.. He is survived by: his wife Maryetta; his children, Danny (Jana), E. P. (Sheri) of Huntsville and Mary Shea Gaston (Jackie) of Albertville, Alabama; his grandchildren, Daniel Buchanan (Laura), Carter Buchanan of Huntsville, James Buchanan of Huntsville, Nate Buchanan (Kat) of Birmingham, Anna Chason Buchanan of Huntsville, Morgan Gaston Kreger (Cale) of Birmingham, Virginia Gaston Hagood (L. T.) and Abigail Gaston of Albertville; his great grandchildren, Penn Timothy Kreger and Lynn Thomas Hagood III; his brother Jim Buchanan (Janet) of Unicoi County, Tennessee; and his sister-in-law Milam Propst of Atlanta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
