It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Richardson Howgate of Huntsville, Alabama, who passed away on November 26, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John B. Richardson and Cora Richardson; her brothers, Buddy, Wayne, John David and Joe; and her daughters, Beverly Rutledge, Edie Wolfe and Erika Howgate.
She is survived by: her husband Dr. David Howgate; her son-in-law Daniel Rutledge; her grandchildren, Sean Wolfe (Jennifer), Michael Wolfe (Kelley), Amanda Whisenant (Charles), Erin Ehsani (Salvatore Stolfo), David Rutledge and Mackenzie McKannan Rufer (Josh Rufer); and her sisters, Charlotte Rudd, Willodean Benge and Diane Powers. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
