She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Baker Edwards; her husband Jim Henry Merritt Jr.; her father Theodore Roosevelt Edwards; her siblings, James Allen Ervin, James Calvin Edwards, Nannie Miller (Willie) and Thelma Crutcher (Billie Fred Crutcher); and her grandson Darius L. Edwards.
She is survived by: her daughters, Demetria Montgomery (Jeff) of Hazel and Sherazada Merritt (Tina) of Huntsville; her grandchildren, Brittany Rogers, Christian Montgomery, Diamond Merritt, Taijase Merritt and Simeon Montgomery; her great grandchildren, Za'ayir Martin and Skylar Hines; her sisters, Pauline King (Everette King), Irene Mack, Martha Edwards, Dorothy Edwards, Reva Green (Thomas), Verna (Sue) and Hines (George); and her friends, Betty Davis and Glenda Mclin. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, friends.
