He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Bruce and Anna James Brandon; and his former wife Mary Frances Gilmer Brandon (Pinny). He is survived by: his wife Sallie Ballentine Brandon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, directed to Hospice Family Care, or to a charity of one's choice.
