He was predeceased by: his parents, Campbell, Sr. Campbell and Mildred Torbert Campbell; his wife Ann McGinn Campbell; and his daughter Lisa Campbell Smith. He is survived by: his sons, Allen Sheppard Campbell (Nikki) and Robert McGinn Campbell (Lisa); his son-in-law Michael Smith; and his caregiver Joanie Isbell. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren.

“So sorry to see that my dear friend & family doctor has passed. Bef he became a surgeon, Ern had become our friend & physician. Ernest, before becoming a surgeon, delivered my daughter, Kathi, in 1960. After she grew up & attended college, he hired her at Brookwood Hosp. Ernest was responsible for saving the life of our son, Billy & quite possibly, my husband's life, when Ern discovered a problem others missed. RIP dear Friend. We dearly love our Dr. Ern.”
