With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ernestine Gray Hester of Huntsville, Alabama, who passed away on May 27, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, James, III (Donna), David (Ann), Anne (Bruce) and Will (Camille); her grandchildren, James, IV (Cassie), David, Jr. (Kara), Kyle (Lauren), Michelle, Chase (Nicole), Benjamin (Savannah), Hannah, Georgia, Elizabeth and Jae; her great grandchildren, Avianna Hester, Azalea Kratzenberg, Grace, Chloe Hester, Henley and Remi Hester; her parents, Ernest Gray and Billie Gray; and her husband James Flanagan Hester, Jr.. She was also cherished by grandmother to her grandchildren.
Devastated by the loss of contact with Covid, the loss of her sweetheart, and by her worsening Parkinson's disease, she moved to assisted living then on to memory care.
