As Esther Smith departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Esther Smith may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Esther Smith leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Lewis LaRon Gober; and her siblings, Stuart Jr., Henry, Mary, Elizabeth, Grace, Martha and Kathryne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Magnolia Room at Magnolia Trace (1 Clubhouse Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35802).
