He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonso Paul and Lillian Leonard (Herron). He is survived by: his wife Pauline Leonard (Tesney); his children, Rick Leonard (Winnet) of Huntsville, Ala, Dana Leonard Sheffield (Terry Mark) of Chatom, Ala and Stacy Leonard Thornton (Terry Lee) of Huntsville; his grandchildren, John-David Sheffield (Cassie), Mary Katelynn Sheffield, Morgan Scogin (Dustin) and Kristen Hale (Spenser); and his great grandchildren, Alaina, Ryan Scogin and Tucker Lee Hale.
