He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Edward Oody and Kathryn Louise Julian Oody; his wife Shirley Ann Reno-Oody; and his sisters, Florence "Sally" Askren and Brenda Smith.
He is survived by: his son Eddy Ody (Indira Jefferson); his granddaughter Emily Ody; his sisters, Roxie, Daily and Myrna Atkins; and his close friend Linda Manning. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel Funeral Home (3552 Hwy 231, Laceys Spring, AL 35754). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
