He was predeceased by: his sons, James K. Carruth, Jr. and Alan B. Carruth; his brother Frank Carruth; and his parents, Holms Carruth and Louella Carruth.
He is survived by: his wife Willie Mae Feltmon Carruth; his children, Scott, Annette Carruth, Paul, Jackie Carruth, Dennis and Doug; his sister June Densmore; his grandchildren, Mellisa Madden, Alicia Carruth, Christopher Carruth, Lacy Carruth, Matthew Carruth and Jason Carruth; and his great grandchildren, Justin Steele, Jessica Steele, Jerrod Steele, Amber Farris, Mark Farris, Camden Steele, Tyden Steele, Ben Steele, Jeff Steele, Kole Farris and Presley Farris.
