He was predeceased by : his grandparents, George Lewis Brinkley, Jr., James "Sunny" Lawrence McElroy Sr., Martha Brinkley and Mary Norene McElroy; and his uncles, Daniel Fox Brinkley, John Allen Brinkley and Jerry McElroy.

He is survived by : his wife Misti McElroy; his parents, James Lawrence McElroy, Jr. and Jane Brinkley Plaxco (Michael); his siblings, Daniel McElroy, Taylor McElroy (Ashlee) and Wes Plaxco (Krista); and his nephews, Jacob, Austin, Harper, Ellis and Grayson.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Berryhill Funeral Home (2305 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Berryhill Funeral Home & Crematory (2305 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810).
