She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Jesse Sam and Miriam Gowan; and her brothers, Paul Gowan and Perry Gowan. She is survived by: her husband William L. Burkett (Buddy); her children, William Earl Burkett (Jennifer) and Martha B. Waldrup (Jerry); her grandchildren, William Burkett (Allie), Jeri Ann Hadley (Jacob) and Alicia Bennett (Zach); and her great grandchild Dixie Bennett.
