He is survived by: his wife Joyce Cole Mathis; his children, Bobby Mathis (Becky), Larry Mathis (Lisa) and Debbie Mayes (John); his grandchildren, Stacey Mei (Sandro), Gena Gyengo (Joseph), Patrick Mayes (Kristen) and Christina Guthrie (Colby); his great grandchildren, Vivian Mei, Chloe Mei and Harper Gyengo; and his brother Hurtis Mathis (Alma).
