As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Joe Wheeler may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Washington Patterson and Effie Owen Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Jane McKee Patterson; his sons, Wheeler Brent Patterson (Donna) and Jason Scott Patterson (Ginger); and his granddaughters, Cora Patterson Perry (Bryce), Chandler Noel Patterson (Tanner), Carlee Jo Patterson and Kenzie Leigh Honaker.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Mayfair Church of Christ (1095 Carl T Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35802). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice Family Care of Huntsville.
