He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Jane Acuff Wilmer and Harry Anthony Wilmer. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Tucker Wilmer; his daughters, Sydney Martin (Matthew) and Callie Moss (Adam); his grandchildren, Edward, Adair, Zella and Frances; and his siblings, W. Joseph Wilmer (Re-Naye) of Huntsville, James F. Wilmer (Karen) of Charleston, S. C. and Alice Belle Stowe of Atlanta.
