He was predeceased by: his wife Martha "Nell" McElroy Stegall; his parents, Francis "Frank" Stegall and Elizabeth Bell Stegall; and his brothers, Joe Stegall and Hugh Stegall.
He is survived by: his children, John Kenneth Stegall (Gerrye) of Nashville, Tennessee, Robert L. Stegall of Stockton, Alabama and Sharon S. Bailey (Dave) of Athens, Alabama; his brother Karl K. Stegall of Montgomery, Alabama; his grandchildren, Jessica Barnett, Lorna Barnett, Audra Terry and Emma Barnett; and his great grandchildren, Nolan Terry and John Luke Terry.
