He is survived by: his wife Jane Childress; his children, Johnny Childress and Jana Caudle; his stepdaughters, Karon Simms, Michelle Williams and Susann Denson; and his siblings, William Childress and Sonya Heaney. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care or to Latham United Methodist Church.
