He was predeceased by: his mother Josie Smith Baty; his son Jeffrey B. Mitchell; and his father Norace Baty Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Sandra M. Baty; his daughters, Tina Mitchell and Nicole Moseley (Joe); his grandchildren, Jessica Pelzer, Chrissy Stewart, Max Moseley, Rhett Moseley and Zoe Moseley; his great grandchildren, Darryl Williams, Dillan Williams, Chamille Stewart, Chloe Stewart and Chaiden Stewart; his sister-in-law Mary Sue Baty; and his siblings, Glen Baty (Sis), Norace Baty Jr. (Sara), Frank Baty (Sue), John Baty, Pauline Callan (Roy), Maxine Vinson (Herman), Mary Sue Underwood (Yewell) and Syble Tipton (Tom). He is also survived by Several Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins.
