Though Leona may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leona touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
The lying in state was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 8:00 AM at the Hopewell M. B. Church (292 Cemetery Rd, New Market, AL 35761). Viewing was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home (2501 Carmichael Ave NW, Huntsville, AL 35816).
