He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Roper and Easter Roper; and his brother Harold Roper of Gadsden. He is survived by: his wife Bobbi; his sons, Randal (Vanessa), Tim (Janie) and David (Nicole); and his grandchildren, Jennifer (Sean Sundey), Lee (Rebecca), Stacey Matt (Dylan Harrison) and Alle (Parker Swords). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Athens Activity Center, 912 W Pryor St, Athens, AL 35611.
