She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ida Mae and Robert Lee Sims; her son Ronnie Johnson-Sims; her husband Robert C. Johnson; her daughter Jacqueline Robin Russell; her siblings, Roosevelt Sims, Francis Sims, Edna Sims Dailey (Joseph), Estella Sims Neal (Percy) and Gwendolyn Sims; and her children, Marvin Clyde Johnson (Carolyn), Denise Johnson-Ward, Angela Lee (John) and Pamela Lloyd (Anthony). She was also cherished by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, eleven step-children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
