It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Meritha Jewel Thurman (Huntsville, Alabama), who passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Batt and Allie Mae Batt; her son Gary Cobb; and her brothers, C. B. and Lawrence Batt.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Thurman of Huntsville; her son Steven Cobb of Colorado; her siblings, Wanda Watson (Bud) and Eddie Batt (Karen); her stepchildren, Sherri Cimino, Michael Thurman (Gina), Sarah Margaret McClure (Mark), Maddie Cimino, Blake (Maren), Grayson, Reed Thurman and Kara Fincannon (Chris); and also, Dr. Addison Cimino (Lauren), Arthur, Jed and Campbell. She is also survived by step-grandchildren.
