He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel Howell and Cloe Howell (Andersen); his wife Velma; his brother Bronlee Howell; and his grandson Gavin Howell.

He is survived by: his children, Lori Deitrick (David), Marc Howell (Laurie), Scott Howell (Diane), Kim Green (John) and James Howell (Chelsea); and his siblings, Delwyn Howell, Darwin Howell, Verlo Howell, Sharleen Turcott and Nola McGinnis. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

“Please accept my sincere condolences. President. Howell as we knew him was my Mission President in NYC some 25 years ago and was a great mentor and Hero to me! I had the opportunity to spend many days learning from him and his love for his family and God. I hope the reunion with his sweetheart “Sister Howell” was beautiful. I love President Howell and am very grateful I was privileged to rub shoulders with him. May you be comforted at this time.”
