He is survived by: his wife Diane Snyder Skinner; his children, Judy Crooks (Marc) of Huntsville, Stephanie Betts (Rick) of Atlanta and Matt Skinner (Laura) of Tuscaloosa; and his grandchildren, Christopher Crooks, Emily Ann, Gracen Betts, Ansley Betts, Anne Reaves and Saxon Skinner.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Church of the Nativity or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
