He was predeceased by : his children, John Thomas Wiley and Artie Loretta Fontenot; and his great grandchild Adaline Rose Hall. He is survived by : his wife Margaret Evans Vidaurri; his sister Armelinda Montgomery; and his children, Arlene Vidaurri Cain, Rene A Vidaurri Jr., Annette Vidaurri, Anita Sweetnam, William Vidaurri and Jenelle Dosier. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Berryhill Funeral Home & Crematory (2305 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810).
