She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Joe Akin; and her parents, Dewey Edwards and Frances Edwards. She is survived by: her son Tony Joe Akin, Jr. (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Shelby, Anna and Hannah; her daughter Cathy Lee (David); her grandchildren, Parker (Elizabeth), Hunter (Lorin) and Jordan; her brother James Edwards (Patricia); her nephew Jeffrey Edwards; and her caregivers, Laura Jean Cooper, Denise Ford, Jennifer Kelly and Kaitlyn Seybold. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
