He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Edwin "Jack" and Leota Coe Diggs; and his wife Joan Blevins Diggs. He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca Barnes (Bobby); and his sister Jean Williams (John). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church.
