She was predeceased by: her husband Virginia Foster McClendon. She is survived by: her parents, Joseph H. Foster and Mamie Dillard Foster; her children, Alan Whiten, Merle Maddocks Whiten, Jo Ann, Johnny Polk, Virginia Carden, Terry Carden, Mary Blake and Greg Blake; and her brother William J. Foster. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Freed-Hardeman University, the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort or Liz Hurley Fund, Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
