He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Bell Cole Low and James Cook Low; and his son Raymond Lewis Low. He is survived by: his wife Reba G Low; his sons, David Low (Venita) and Steven Low (Doris); and his grandchildren, Jessica Low Nobles, Justin Low, Danielle Low Duncan, Andrew Low (AJ) and Wesley Low. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
