It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilson Dewey Smith (Huntsville, Alabama), born in Paint Rock, Alabama, who passed away on November 21, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson D. Smith, Sr. and Verna Sansing Smith; and his parents-in-law, Willi and Elisabeth Segewitz. He is survived by: his significant other Heide Segewitz Smith; his children, Russell H. Smith, Caroline Smith Lightfoot (Robert) and Scott A. Smith (Tran); his grandchildren, Kelsey Lightfoot, Haley Lightfoot Johnson (Philip), Whitney Smith, Riley Smith, Leah Smith, Jackson Smith and Ava Smith; his great grandchild Wyatt Johnson; his brother Billy H.; and his siblings-in-law, Dean Smith, Manfred and Rita Segewitz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
