He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Rankin and Florestee Hunt Rankin; his wife Flora Rivers Rankin; his daughter Mary Bell Mose (Sellasteen Foxx); his siblings, Ella Mae Fox, Zebadee, Willie Lee, Lawrence James, Lindsey and Jethro Rankin Sr.; and his sons-in-law, Archie Foxx and Eddie Lee Robinson.

He is survived by : his children, Bessie Rodgers (Henry Clay) of Oakland, Mattie Law (Charles) of Coffeeville, Margaret Rankin of Richmond, Jacqueline Bryant (Wrena Rankin) of Walker Springs, Eddie James Rankin (Marlyn) of Richmond, Samuel Rankin (Helen) of Gainestown and Mack Rankin (Brenda) of Oakland, Calif.; his siblings, Ida Mae Agee of Prichard, William James Rankin (Barbara) of Whistler and Henry Lee Rankin (Deloris) of Mobile; and his siblings-in-law, Julia M. Rivers of McIntosh, Irene Pogue (Johnnie) of Satsuma, Lelia McCants of Jackson, Eleanor Green of New York, N. Y., Spencer Rivers (Eula Mae) of Gainestown, Jessie Rivers of New York and Leslie Sylvester of New York. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
