She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie S. Sheffield and Sadie Skipworth Sheffield; her former husband L. D. Dunn; and her siblings, Willie B. Sheffield (Dorothy), Henry Lee Sheffield (Patsy), Ralph Sheffield (Elaine), Katherine Sessions (Eddie), Alda Rae Woolfolk (Joe), Clarice Hoven and Grady Sheffield.
She is survived by: her husband Arnold E. Smith; her children, Dwight Dunn (Sonya) and Kay Odom (Dwain "Cat"); her grandchildren, Hannah Jackson (Matt), Joshua Dunn (Heather), Kristin Donald (Bucky), Jon Odom (Shannon), Holly McCain (Rodney) and Eric Odom (Casey); her great grandchildren, Kayci Donald, Lauren Donald, Jon Collie Odom, Will Odom, Molli McCain, Meradith McCain, Gracie Claire Odom and Chloe Odom; her brothers, Ray Sheffield (Jane) and Larry Gene Sheffield (Marie); her brother-in-law Fred Hoven; and her close friend Diane Dean (Roger). She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be the Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
