In the sacred silence of farewell, James Ernest is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that James Ernest's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Roberts and Margaret "March" Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Mary F. Durham Roberts; his sons, Michael J. Roberts of Jacksonville, Chris Roberts (Melissa) of Tuscaloosa and Dan Roberts (Joy) of Peachtree City; and his grandchildren, James Roberts of Tuscaloosa, Anna Roberts and Reese Roberts of Peachtree City.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home (2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35903).
