With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Thomas (Jacksonville, Alabama), born in Choccolocco, Alabama, who passed away on May 20, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Robert and Dessie Lorena Thomas; his spouse Waltraud Katharina Münzenberger; his children, Billy Joe and Lorena Magdalena (Lori); his daughter-in-law Mary Teague Thomas; his granddaughter Kristen Thomas Dover (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Kaden and Briar Dover. He was also cherished by his sister and his children.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, and with respect to the health and well-being of those who would attend it, a memorial service will not be held at this time.
Those wishing to express their sympathies are encouraged to donate in his name to one of these charities: The American Heart Association, Disabled American Veterans, and The Humane Society of the United States.
