He was predeceased by: his parents, William Owens and Dorothy Owens; his nephews, Bryant Owens, Heath Foshee and Trae Cobb; and his niece Morgan Cobb.

He is survived by: his wife Anita Owens of Jemison, AL; his children, Dustin Owens (Nicole) of Jemison, AL and Jennifer Hicks (Shane) of Jemison, AL; his grandchildren, Dalton Owens of Garrett Hicks, Ava Grace Owens and Anna Kate Hicks; his siblings, Randy Owens (Gail) of Jemison, AL and Debbie Allen (Donnie) of Jemison, AL; and also, Aunt and Clydell Bice of Jemison, AL..
