He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas Canaan and Myrtle Lucy O'Donnell Canaan; his wife Joan Myers Canaan; and his daughter Suzanne Broadwater. He is survived by: his son Stuart Canaan (Becky) of Columbia, SC; his son-in-law Doug Broadwater of Jemison; and his sister Corinne White of Raleigh, NC.. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren.
