He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Turner and Virginia P. Turner; his wife Kathy Boyd Turner; his daughter Deidra Arlene Turner Byers; and his nephew Micah Sean Risner.
He is survived by: his siblings, James Andrew Turner, Jr. (Sue), Patricia Farr (Craig), Arlene Peden and Debra Friar (Dwight); his grandchildren, Madison Wooden (Tyler Clemons), Meagan Wooden, Kaylee Byers, Jacob Byers and Savanna Franks; and his great grandchild Zaya Clemons.
