With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Woodson Stanley of Leighton, Alabama, who passed away on March 14, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dollie Cobb Stanley and Woodson Stanley; his siblings, Myrtle Inez Langham, Willie James Stanley and Irma Jean Garner; and his grandsons, Donald Joel Abernathy and Thomas Corbett Settles.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sheila Faye Abernathy (Donald) and Sandra Elaine Perkins (Alvin); his grandchildren, Ashley Nicole, Allison McKenzie Settles, Jessica Danielle Abernathy, Pastor Thomas Colin Settles (Avita) and Justin Brandon Abernathy (Mitra); and his great grandchildren, Mycah Ayanna Settles, Mallory Grace Abernathy, T. Colin Barrion Settles, Timothy Corbett Woodson Settles and Titus Christian Warren Settles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Mr. Stanley be honored through contributions in his name (Joseph Woodson Stanley) to the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church's Benevolence Fund.
