He was predeceased by : his children, Les Hurst and Kathy Hurst Stewart. He is survived by : his wife Martha M. Hurst; his stepson Dennis "Bo" Hurst (Ann); his daughter Sheila H. Garrett (Rickey); and his stepdaughters, Anita Harvell (Mike) and Ellen Bean (Danny). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has ask that donations be made to Dry Valley Baptist Church.
