She was predeceased by: her parents, Wiley Braxton and Louise Dixon Schroder Sammons; and her husband James Payton Smyly. She is survived by: her children, James Payton Smyly, Jr., Steven Craig Smyly, Cheryl Smyly Miller, Jennifer Camille Smyly and Patricia Smyly Pritchett; and her brothers, Robert Sammons, Gene Sammons, Billy Wayne Sammons and Jimmy Sammons. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
