He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mary Jane Allred and Penny Mann. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Bowers; his children, Carla Bowers, Lindsey Carruth (Paul), Danny Bowers (Melanie) and David Bowers (Stephanie); his siblings, Argo Bowers, Sam Bowers (Connie), Mark Bowers (Barbara), Richard Bowers (Kathy), Patsy Smith (Hugh), Barbara Rachels (Wayne) and Martha Brand; his grandchildren, Courtney Nix (Joel), Callie Russell (Brandon), Mary Claire Carruth, Lauren Sansing (Andrew), Kate Edwards (Will), Bentley Bowers, Bailey Bowers and Brody Bowers; and his great grandchildren, Junior Nix, Mabrey Nix, Paul Austen Nix, Grace Russell and Jane Russell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
