She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Reverend William H. Black and Louise Patterson Black; her children, William Porter (Sandy) of Mobile, David August of Mobile and Martha Louise; and her grandchildren, Sarah Hilscher (Nick), Mark Roberts (Kristen), Lindsey Coker (Dennis), Jeffrey Elrod, Justin Litaker, Candace Headland (Anthony), Cole Litaker (Rachael) and Craig Kaczmarek. She was also cherished by fourteen great-grandchildren, four nieces and nephews, and countless other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mobile or the W. H. Black Memorial at the University of Mobile Library.
