It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Burgess (Montevallo, Alabama), born in Rock Mills, Alabama, who passed away on May 7, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse William Burgess (J. W.) and Murphy Maudisa Adamson; his siblings, Leon Burgess, Myrtice Norred, Palmer Burgess, Claudia Hardy and Leola Blackmon; and his son-in-law Gary Cody.
He is survived by: his wife Josie; his daughter Gina Cody; his grandsons, Michael Cody (Maegan) and James Cody (Nicole); his great grandchildren, Noah Robinson, Aldyn and Callan Cody; and his sisters, Sarah Morris, Joyce LaFoy, Nellie Henderson and Guinn West. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
