He is survived by: his wife Teresa Hyde; his children, James David Hyde Sr. (Jamee) and Nicole Ethredge; his grandchildren, Breanna, Ainslee and David Jr.; his great grandchildren, Sammul and Aria; and his siblings, Fred Pendley and Shirley Hammonds. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
