He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Hicks Nalley; his parents, John Cadmus Nalley, Sr. and Mary Kate Hyde Nalley; his siblings, Mary Frances Swindall and Albert Joe Nalley; and his brothers-in-law, James Bentley and Allen Gill.

He is survived by: his children, John Junior Nalley, Linda Ann Nalley and Rodney Wilburn Nalley; his grandsons, John Edward Nalley and Randy William Nalley; his sisters, Lanice Bentley and Sandra Rebecca Gill; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Louise Nalley and Leonard Hicks (Peggy).
