He is survived by: his daughter Joan Vassar; his grandsons, Dominic Vassar of Raleigh, NC, Ross Vassar, Michael Vassar and Germany; his brother Ralph Vassar (Claudia); his nieces, Imogene, Carolyn and Pearl of Montevallo, AL; and also Michael Cottingham (Sofia Cottingham). He is also survived by cousins and grandchildren.
