He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Leonard and Niczora Leonard; his wife Julia S. Leonard; his sister Sarah F. Taylor; and his grandson Roderick D. Trice.

He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Wilkins (Jerome) of Atlanta, GA, Cathy Brown (Mazeroski), Raymond Leonard Jr. (Leslie), Cassandra Bryant, Midfield and Marquita Spencer (Onesimus); his brothers, Glenn Leonard (Rhodora) of Pensacola, FL and David Leonard (Rene); and his sisters-in-law, Artha Hooker, Sadie Singleton (Eddie) and Mozetta Byrd. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
