He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Jonathan Thornthwaite and Helen Elizabeth Lakemacher Thornthwaite; and his siblings, Arthur "Art" Thornthwaite, Lucille M. Fields, June Irene Persinger, Harold Richard Thornthwaite, Margaret J. Weber and Eva Mae Weber.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Polishuk (Perry), Danny Thornthwaite (Cindy) and Kevin Thornthwaite; his grandchildren, Jessica Polishuk, Marissa Watkins (Justin), David Thornthwaite, Greg Thornthwaite (Nicole), Ella Thornthwaite, Lexie Thornthwaite and Lily Thornthwaite; and his great grandchildren, Andrew, Oliver, Mason Thornthwaite and Eva Lynn Watkins.
