It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley McQueen Mayfield (Montevallo, Alabama), who passed away on May 14, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Miriam Rasco and Parker McQueen. She is survived by: her son Dr. Milton Ray Mayfield, Jr. (Jacqueline Mayfield) of Cotulla; and her sibling's children, James Rasco (Jane Rasco) and Melinda Murib (Talal Murib).
Due to travel restrictions and health concerns about the COVID-19 virus, a memorial service is tentatively scheduled for September 8.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mayfield Scholarship Fund, care of the UM Foundation, Station 6220, University of Montevallo, Montevallo, AL 35115, or the Shelby County Humane Society, 381 McDow Rd, Columbiana, AL 35051.
